CLOSING

Thumper Reports:

Bakara is in the history book - and the caption reads:
"It was hard hitting and tons of fun had by all"

The Rangers put it to the Mogs on Saturday under the leadership of new comer Ben Bowens of team Ball Busters out of Winnboro - facilitated in a mighty way by Team Shadow Company and a hard hittling individuals like Smoking Joe, DJ, The Great Zen and Ely and by dinner time, the score was a painfull thing to mention.

Sunday morning saw sheets of rain opening the day, and only the die hards returned to what was to become a perfect day for paintball.

The missions were written for smaller numbers with the spawn points located near the mission objectives keeping the action hopping as players churned away trying to secure the now infamous objectives CW, LZ19, The Olympic Hotel and Shantie Town.

Spyderman of Carolina Pain did a fine job on Sunday trying to bring order and motivation to the Mog Militia leading some our younger players and Sunday produced a few battle victories for the Mogs - but the war was lost.

To both armies, generals and teams - I Salute YOU.

The US Rangers win it with a lot to the Mogs with not enough.

The closet where TriggerTyme keeps the cases paint tells the real story : zippo, none, nadda.... with the last case sold during the last battle ... and fun was had by all. After all, they do call it Paintball..!

Joe and DJ played for the Rangers - leading the way..Playing w/ Shadow Company.

The Great Zen

As always, thanks to Thumper for organizing the event.

A big time salute to DJ who did a spectacular job leading the team in the morning.

Also, kudos to Shadow Co for being very organized, modular, and mission oriented. They were a big part of what made it a massive ranger victory.

Way to go smokin' Joe. He was where he needed to be most of the time, played well, and didn't glory hunt. First time I can recall playing with smokin' Joe and I was impressed.

and another player that really caught my eye was Levi. That was some good paintballin'

joe I wanted to give kudos to someone who probably won't see this. There was a family that showed up to play rec-ball and ended up in the scenario. There was a young kid, his father and grandfather. The grandfather was awesome!!!! He stuck it out even when the fight was rather one-sided Saturday afternoon. I remember him fighting against a horde of Rangers by himself many times!!! He was about 65 and played like he was 25!!!.

Most importantly, the family had a blast and definitely got a heck of a first day of paintball.

DJ

So there I am in the middle of No Mans Land, just having traded some paint with Sarge, when Thumper walks up and asks, "What would it take for you to switch to the Mogs?" I think before he finished the sentence, my Ranger tape was gone, and I donned my mog colors. The idea of trying to put a little sand in the undies of the Rangers had me all smiles. Don't confuse my loyalty, I just like a good challenge. And challenge it was. Shadow Company played like they eat and sleep tactics. I would gladly play with those guys. But it was even more fun sneeking up behind them and watching their eyeballs widen when I got 10 feet from their backs and whispered, "You guys are toast. Don't make me shoot you this close." And they didn't. Of course I was relieved cuz it would have ended in more welts for all of us I am sure.

Spyderman - No apology necessary. I guess I would have to apologize. Not that I hit you, but cuz I didn't know you were already out. What was with the freakin flag march anyway? I thought you were completing some mission and my e-grip got a little carried away. First time I ever used it. I turned it down Sunday until they switched me over. I figured the Rangers deserved a little of the same treatment. Full Auto!!! As far as leading us, well...I think MacArthur would have struggled to even that fight. I think the stands we made at LZ19 and finally at the Tower were noble battles. Even some of the Rangers told me LZ19 was the best fight of the weekend. I think you and I got hit and reinserted like 5 times in 30 minutes. And as far as the tower went, heck...That was like Troy holding off the Spartans, only this time the tower was held. I think we finally flustered the Rangers just a bit having lost their first major mission, even with a whole hour to complete it. But did we throw some paint or what? I pounded out 3 cases over the weekend. No joke. I look forward to running with ya at the Finale, and just rec-balling it in the future.

PS - Thumper, Great Show man. Let me know if I can help you in the future.
