2004 2004 Oct - Shifter Project 2 Oct MVT #8- MVP Wayne Dollack Wayne's World, FL

2004 - Oct 2nd The Shifter Project

before the game

Skeeter put this together - 2004 Oct Waynes World - from the old school, Thumper, Keith, Andrew, Grendel, Wayne, Rich, Squeeks and Skeeter then around 25 more misc. Nick & Jim made our radar this game - solid guys.

I think we has 33 packin with us. The game has something to do with the two twins, one being a clone. And we had the south base. Around 220 players shows up as it was still pretty hot,and Florida had just been hit with 5 hurricanes in a row. The north end of the field around the bridge was flooded, and lots of trees were down. Just before the game started our previous ally "Mark" can to announce we with with his side, then 20 minutes later we get the opposite news

Saturday
As the game started, our general walked on with no staff or experience being general. He was picked because he was the twin. Apparently Wayne didn't get the walk ons he was hoping for as stuck our side withe the weaker general, and front loaded the other side. To make matters worst, the north got the tank and made excellent usage of it. We begged for volunteers from RK to be XO and Radio operator, and BRAD and some girl that came helped bail us out. We spent most of Saturday running a few missions, fighting the tank and swapping back and forth on sinker town. (Unremarkable). Rich and I did find ourselves a neat hidey hole up north on the only passable north trail in a pair of yellow huts, with blind curves on each side of the trail. As the bad guys would wander the trail - POP goes the weasel. After 45 minutes of ambushing passers by a tank came to visit with Mark (our previous general) walking point. We pop him and he wanders back down the trail towards the ref, walks back toward us still plugged, pulls his plug and throws a card at our building blowing it up. We walk out like good sports. Later we find out Jackie spotted a number of counterfit cards being used and produced by Mark's team. Later that day I pop the law rocket operator of a squad of 15 and he proceed to keep coming at me. No ref in site, I pop him 6 more times, not missing once. He is unloading w/ his semi and apparently getting mad that he cant seem to hit me and I haven't missed yet. The bastard then punches me with his whole team watching (and the video guy who was there said he didn't get it on tape. Jim was with me and saw the whole thing. I commented "Its just a game till you start swinging".
Saturday Night

Saturday Night we grabbed the same old hotel, hit the pool with malts in hand, to be followed up with steak galore at the Road House. Rich, Grendle, Jim swap in-services stories and try to think myself out of leg cramps. (oh, but the fooseball table there rocks!) Sunday we return bright and early

Sunday

Sunday we had about 10 decent RK and told the general we would manage the east road, and we did with 5 LPs and a series of less disciplined roving patrols. 80% of the walk on guests of RK proved near worthless unless you count fodder factor. Anyway we picked up 6 genetic props and ran 5 missions between 8:00 am and 11:00am all on the east road. In the kids favor, I will saw it looked like we had a decent showing at night.

Grendel has had enough of the scenario stuff that causes the poor attitudes that seem to be running rampant in Ocala, and he let Wayne get an earfull. We split, and later phoned Skeeter who reported we walked with MTV and BRAD our walk on radio operator got MTP. I think skeeter has the certificates. This is likely our last venture to Ocala for paintball. The attitudes are out of control and the old school players have left. I guess we were just slow figuring it out.

Wayne, Ben : It's been fun. Call us if things rebound : john@hgwt.net
