| South Carolina Roadkill Charter (last revised 10.18.2005 by team
meeting)
Mission Statement: Is to attend events with friends while
having a fun, honest and safe time.
Leadership: There is no formal leadership organization.
Decisions that have to be made will be made by the membership as
a whole via timely and specific vote polls on the forum or membership
meetings.
Event Leadership: Will be voluntary and typically
will be those members who brought the event to the teams attention.
The leader will be responsible for organizing the registration efforts
and setting team registration deadlines. If you want to go with
the team have your paperwork and money in by the deadline or you
take care of yourself. Event Leaders are not babysitters. The event
leader has the ability to decide who registers under the SC Roadkill
name and will be responsible for anyone who isnt a RK member.
Squads: RK has no formal squad structure but members
are invited to establish ad hoc squads as they see fit based on
playing style and need.
Voting: The normal method of making decisions will be via
polls on the RK Private forum. When needs arise that members feel
there needs to be a decision made a debate thread will be opened
and when a significant portion of the debaters are to the point
a decision needs to be made a poll shall be set. These polls will
be worded to allow only yes or no votes
and will be of a duration no less then 7 days. In addition the member
who establishes the poll will send an e-mail to all members to inform
them of the poll. When voting in person the same criteria will apply.
Business Association: SC Roadkill will not be associated
with any business endeavor in name or fact. This means that no member
may use the SC Roadkill team or name of the team, to promote or
sponsor any business or event outside of the team. The only exception
would be if the team decided to sponsor an event or charity this
being determined by vote.
Recruitment: Roadkill is always looking for talent, so if
you think you have what it takes, and would like to join up, read
on...
You must be recognized by at least one active member, and
that member must announce to the membership the he is sponsoring
you. We are only seeking very solid honest players that will fit
in with the existing membership and seeks to have fun and be safe.
You may not even know that youve been sponsored since this
may bias your normal actions. So your best chance of getting sponsored
is to play naturally to your skills and be fun to be around. Recruits
have the right to be registered under the RK name but are the responsibility
of the Sponsor.
You then enter a probation period. This is where the balance
of the RK members will evaluate your skills, spirit, personality,
patience and maturity. We havent had many players wash out
during this period. Probation lasts a minimum 2 major scenario events
but may take longer.
Your sponsor may then nominate you to membership and call
for a vote. Any active member voting nay, for any reason,
and you are either rejected, or your sponsor may elect to work with
you to refine the problem. Once a sponsor calls for a vote for membership
a poll will be posted on the RK Private Forum with duration of seven
day. In addition the sponsor will send a broadcast e-mail to all
active members to announce there is a membership vote on the forum.
To be accepted as a member there must be no nay votes.
If there are any nay votes the sponsor must decide if
he wishes to continue to sponsor the player for a chance at a future
vote.
Membership: As member, you will be issued Official South
Carolina Roadkill Member Patches and Our Colors a yellow
jersey with the RK name on the front and your name or nick name
on the back. These Jerseys stand out nicely for judging during awards
and pictures. We do have some special jersey for use during play,
but in general, we opt to blend in.
OLD ROADKILL DO NOT DIE, THEY JUST FADE AWAY
We are a fairly mature team. Many members are married, many
with kids. So attendance capabilities come and go so our
expectations are a bit more lax than a tournament team. To maintain
on the ACTIVE RK roster you must attend at least one RK sanctioned
event in the last year. If you can not meet this requirement you
will be moved to the INACTIVE RK roster. There is only one way to
loose your RK Membership and that is to dishonor the team in anyway.
This is purely subjective decision based on the opinions of the
remainder of the Membership this takes only a majority vote of the
ACTIVE RK membership present to be booted off the team. The offending
member will be allowed to plead their case if and only when they
can arrange 3 Active RK Members to reopen the issue and sponsor
a re-vote. At that time the offending member may try to plead their
case.
Dues There are no mandatory dues required for membership.
At times there will be requests for donations from the team members
to support recruitment, membership items like Patches and Jerseys
and for donation to sanctioned good causes. Any donations are purely
voluntary and no undue pressure will be placed on any member by
the membership to contribute.
Communication Each member is responsible by the end
of their first year of membership to provide their own radio equipment
that is compatible with the RK radio standard.
Annual Scenario Games List This list is to be posted and
administered by one member volunteer (List Attendant). The intent
of this list is to provide a place listing all of the events a significant
portion of the membership intends on attending.
Events may be added when a minimum of 3 members express
interest and intent on attending. This will be submitted to the
current List Attendant for addition the Annual Scenario Games List.
