| SC ROADKILL AFFILIATE TEAM PROGRAM (by Thumper 12.09.2004) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Long long ago, Wayne Dollack invented Scenario Paintball in Florida, and after a few years, news tricked into South Carolina, and we went to the 1993 Operation Lazrus. Little did we know, but many friends we have now were there also - THUMPER, TUMOR, TJ, GRENDEL, SKEETER and LINK were all there. The teams that showed up were compromised of those who knew what to do (TEAM SWAT out of Biluxi Mississippi) and everyone else. Those in the know ran the show, those that didn't listened and did what they were told. The sport grew, and every one went mission oriented. Wayne encourged it and it happened. The technology changed, and every one went wild with the electro numatic markers, putting up litteral waves of paint. The recent Free Finale and many Final Finales are testimony to this change. The game changed. Those that don't know how to play rule the show - until they hear the score. At the Final Finale 2004 owner Billy Smith was actually embarassed by the score and refused to read it to the players. All he would divulge was that General Bambi of Coastal Paintball with a broken ankel beat the legendary Ben Torencelli of MPP and the NOCER Boys, and AIKI of 24hourgames.com and 68Caliber.com. and "by a wide margin" (read the story here) The funny thing is, SC ROADKILL RAN the show for Bambi. It has been like this for a while. Several other teams know. BLITZKRIEG and MAYBERRY MURADERS know. The promoters and vendors want equipment and paint sales - and thats all fine. But is is that silly Old School stuff that keeps winning wars. The old guys know, just as Team Swat knew way back when. We can run the show, but we need to grow. Growing fast creates pain, and we just got stung with a few pains we expected but were not prepared to deal with - hense this program. SC ROADKILL does bring in MEMBERS and this is a way in. FOR FULL MEMBERSHIP we only allow solid stand up players with skills that add to our whole to join - and that take lots of time. Generally firepower, flashy markers, etc dont mean crap. In fact, that generally works against you as moving through candidacy. Example: I played the last 4 hours of the free finale behind the enemy, within feet of their bases, active tanks, with my player card in plain view. I checked with 4 refs to make sure my techniques were legal, and without a gun. But we need to deal with the waves of paint. We need to take the battle to them. Beat them at their own game, so we can run ours. So were are building an affiliate team program to help us do just that. Now we are looking for paint slingers that work together, stay together and listen. Enter the SC ROADKILL AFFILIATE/ASSOCIATE TEAM PROGRAM... |
